BRAVE HEART
The following series of photos were taken four or five years ago. Brave Heart was transiting from Seattle to Mexico and stopped off for a few days at the San Francisco marina. The boat went on to Mexico, but we understand that it may have ended up on the rocks or beach and was likely destroyed.
We begin with the boat sitting at the dock.

Is that!? Oh-it can't be! It is! It is shag carpet! What a tremendously shippy looking little boat! I like relocated galley. Heck, I like it all. I sit here landlocked in Minnesota and dream of a voyage down to Mexico. West coast, East coast it don't matter. What a tradgedy to lose her.

That would really be a shame...we can always hope we heard wrong, I guess.
Let us bow our heads and repeat three times:
LEE SHORE!
LEE SHORE!!
LEE SHORE!!!

Brave Heart Reappears!
Brave Heart's new owner writes: "A-383 Brave Heart is alive and well (seen better days) on Mission Bay - San Diego. I'll check out the thread and maybe post some updated pictures when I get some loaded. She has had some repairs and is missing her bow pulpit, but still afloat, sailing and otherwise complete. I would love to get some history. She has a very different interior and a lot of other nice upgrades. Thanks for the info. By the way, I'm looking for a bow pulpit and misc. other items to put her back together again. I guess I'll post that on your web site.
Thanks again, Rob"

Rob adds:
"Thanks Bill. I found the Brave Heart thread and I'm happy to report it is the same boat. Looking a little rougher these days but nothing that can't be fixed or cleaned up. I'm the third owner that I know about since the boat has been in this marina and I believe it has been here at least five years. Great web site by the way. Lots of helpful info. and the earlier Brave Heart pictures help explain some of the empty mounting holes we were just guessing about. I downloaded and printed the registry information form and the owners manual & maintenance guide order form. I'll be sending them in soon. I'm not sure which membership class would be appropriate for us since we are not in San Francisco. It seems a small price to pay for such a lot of information and support.
Ariel #383 Brave Heart still mostly dark blue hull, white deck inboard Volvo single cyl. (in pieces) 1964/65? (I have papers indicating both)"
